Course Overview

UPDATE FOR BURT 2026: Good news! Thanks to Bainbridge Island Parks and Trails Foundation work since BURT 2025, the BURT course has replaced 1.5 miles of road with trails!

The BURT course is a 54K loop that links a multitude of Bainbridge Island parks and trails, now with over 85% (and growing) of the course being on trail. Run through the lush firs and cedars of the Grand Forests, Gazzam Lake, and Fort Ward then take in world-class water views at Port Blakely and South Beach.

Each loop is comprised of over 4,000 feet of elevation with a 'vert crux' of deceptively challenging switchbacks in Gazzam Lake. This thoroughly-marked course is a mix of single-track trails, groomed park trails, and road. A limited number of well-stocked aid stations are provided.
